Best tennis shoes 2020

What is the best shoe for you?

Today, most people are multi-tasking. Working out, going for a walk, or a short jog during lunch. People go to work and play in their tennis shoes, so they expect a lot from the shoe they wear.

Today's Tennis shoe is a multi-use shoe

Therefore, the tennis shoe needs to look good, be comfortable, well ventilated, and technical enough to go from behind a desk to a full out run.

If you want the best type of tennis shoe for men, or women, then you are going to require shoes that give you an edge. The best shoes for tennis are the ones that will add to your agility with technical balance and support for those quick-thinking movements, and of course , well cushioned so that your feet can endure the beating.

Some of the most comfortable tennis shoes for adults are not the most expensive, popular, the best quality or even close to being stylish. Fact is some of the most comfortable shoes are downright ugly and cheap. So what makes a good tennis shoe across the board

best tennis shoes in 2020?

In my opinion, it is a mistake to buy activity-specific shoes. You don't need the best-rated tennis shoes unless you are a professional and need a shoe just for one specific purpose, like basketball shoes, or an athlete that runs in marathons. If you are not one of those types, a solid multipurpose shoe is probably the way to go.

That said, there is still a difference in the grade and purpose of your tennis shoes. Just like most running shoes, cross-training shoes, or high top basketball shoes are not ideal for other sports. Have you ever seen a professional tennis player wear shoes meant to play basketball? Probably not. Most of the best men's court shoes are heavy and lack the support for balanced side to side and quick forward motion.

The reverse is also applicable. You will never see a professional basketball player on the court in a pair of shoes meant for tennis players. Without the right shoe for your favorite sports activity, you could face a serious injury.

The difference in the types of Running shoes and cross-training shoes are vast. What people look for is a lightweight shoe with a flexible sole that is soft and supportive. For cross trainers, indoor courts, or light joggers, a well-padded shoe that offers a combination of arch support and shock-absorbing cushioning in the sole will work well.

Most of the shoes designed for running are created to cushion the blow of pounding the pavement when you are running or jogging. Most running gear is not meant for trail running or any type of activity that could twist the ankle. For me, wide tennis shoes with arch support

So if you are not an avid runner that needs a $300 pair of running shoes, or a professional basketball player, what type of shoe creates a good balance for what you need? Should you buy the best cheap tennis shoes?

What Is A true Tennis Shoe?

When I say "Tennis Shoe", I actually mean a "Sneaker". The Tennis Shoe usually describes a casual all-round shoe. There are shoes that are specifically made to play Tennis sport, not just casual kick arounds.

Tennis shoes made specifically for the Tennis game are usually made with extra support for side to side movements and the front is balanced with the arch and heel for sudden forward sprints. The fabric is designed to be tough and brace the foot during hard stops or a short burst of speed. The sole of a tennis shoe is important as well to prevent sliding or slipping when passing your reach limit.

As I always say, comfort is important in any shoe. The better your feet feel, the more endurance you have. Sometimes it comes down to just one factor that is the difference between winning or losing.

What Does A Quality Tennis Shoe Cost?

The difference between a Quality Tennis shoe and a beginner's shoe made for playing tennis comes down to the quality, type of materials, and the manufacturing process. You can spend $30 for a cheap pair of tennis footwear or $200 plus for a pair of technical or professional tennis shoes.

It all depends on what level of tennis you play and the performance you require. As always, fit, support, and comfort can be the difference at any tennis level. Try to find a good balance between the right style, play level, and technical advantages in each shoe.

Best Places To Buy Tennis Shoes?

Nowadays you can investigate your Tennis shoes without leaving your house. I prefer to actually try them on in person, walk around and look in the little shoe mirror. It's a different world now, but you can still go online and check reviews, research and compare before you buy.

Usually, the online sites have technical stats, so you can do a side by side comparisons of the price and features of each shoe. If you don't like what you bought you can always return them and get something else.

There are plenty of online sites that offer a variety of brands and price points for any playing level. Amazon is a good place to start and offer 2day delivery on some products. eBay and Zappos are a good choice as well.

High Arches Or Flat Feet?

It doesn't matter what level of tennis you play, the right tennis footwear isn't the same for everyone. Your foot is unique, your playing style is different so you need a shoe that meets your individual playing style, and fit.

If you have a flat feet, you are going to be careful of the type of arch in your shoes. If the arch is too high or too low, you could hurt yourself and be laid up for weeks, or worse, the wrong arch could cause an injury that needs surgery. There are brands that cater to flat-footed folks, and most of the big sports brands like Nike, Asics always have some good quality styles designed with the flat foot in mind.

On the other end of the spectrum is high arches. If you have the wrong type of insole, it going to hurt! High arches need additional support and cushioning. I always recommend a shoe that is closer to a cross-trainer shoe.

Cross trainers are usually heavily padded, have more support on the arch and the sole is usually thicker with shock-absorbing foam or rubber. Some good brands are Sketchers or New Balance, and Asics. Asics are on the high end of the price spectrum though.
