My passion for inspiring others to experience and preserve the outdoors started at a young age with hiking, canoeing, and camping trips with my family. The principles I learned in Boy Scouts laid the foundation which has served me throughout my life as an outdoor leader. As an outdoor leader, I have organized and led backpacking trips, multi-day overnight canoeing trips on the Upper Delaware River with friends. I planned a company team-building whitewater rafting trip of the Lehigh River when I worked for Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
My lifelong passion for hiking and backpacking experience motivated me to take on Pennsylvania’s “Wildest Natural Footpath” The Mid State Trail from NY to MD. Throughout the hike, I wore a center-mounted GoPro on my chest, then edited and narrated the video content to share my journey on social media (YouTube, Twitter, Facebook) to both inspire others to follow in my “footsteps” and for those who are physically unable to hike, to experience the beauty of the outdoors. I currently have over 4,000 outdoor social-media followers from the outdoor community. As a way to promote and inspire youth and adults to get outdoors, I have utilized my social media platforms to connect with organizations like Gear Forward and Teton Sports to assist civic organizations in acquiring new and used hiking, backpacking, and camping gear. Whether the experience is a 50-mile backpacking trip with a new friend met over social media, filming and editing a video to advertise outdoor products, or promoting conservation awareness to those experiencing outdoor activities, my passion for the outdoors is limitless. Inspired by John Muir, I’m ready to turn my passion into my profession.
